STORM WARNING

The 'Trump phenomenon' - yeah, buddy! Doesn't make sense. Another post on this blog is dedicated to that. It doesn't make sense, FROM MY POINT OF VIEW. But is does make sense, to those caught up in it. It has to.

If consensus thought can be likened to physics, our encounter with the Donald is like a near miss by a rogue, black hole. I find this analogy particularly applicable because surviving such an event most certainly would not be guaranteed by the passing of the "non-object!" The.. literally unthinkable effects of the disturbances in space-time in it's wake.. wow!

A criminal, brought to justice. Simple, right? WE WISH!

The Donald's status as a demigod... complicates these matters. In the opinion of His worshipers the Donald really IS God - so much so they will hear nothing negative about Him - stopping just short of viewing those that offer (blatantly obvious) truth, as heretics! Because, after all, the Donald CAN do, no wrong!

The Kennedys. Camelot. THE American Story. In reality, the Kennedys were an organized crime family that rose to prominence by smuggling (at the time) illegal drugs (alcohol) into the United States, from Canada.

Donald Trump. TV star! (Never mind the fact that when you ARE an asshole, playing one is no big thing.) Evaluated by his sister as "the most dangerous man in the world;" psychopathic; egomaniacal; unstable; heartless... Author of "the Art of the (dirty) Deal," this man victimized everyone with whom he ever dealt then threw most of them under the bus when he was able to extract nothing more, from them.

Richard Nixon. Bill Clinton. LBJ. One conclusion would be, Americans like dirtbags... Another might be, we just don't care; the Dog and Pony Show has dazzled all of us blind; or, maybe we admire people that "beat the system." Al Capone. Bonnie and Clyde. Jessie James.

We don't define the splendid feeling - that oh, so pleasant stunning of the mind, and spirit - that occurs in our imaginations as we daydream of a life, on the run... driving it like we stole it ('cause we did!) as we somehow turn and pick off the cops chasing us while staying on the road, at 120 MPH...We don't dare.

Why? I'll tell you why! Because, at some most basic level, all of us RAIL, at being controlled. Dreams can be avenues, of escape. Which should make what we need to escape, obvious.

While my purpose is not to reveal ancient technology to the gen (whatever) crowd, I may have to. A Pressure Cooker restricts the steam coming off the food being cooked, resulting in the food being exposed to pressure, as well as heat. Just eat some good 'ol KFC chicken...

PEOPLE do not thrive, in pressure cookers. PEOPLE thrive, only in freedom. But not more than they can handle, of course ;) If a "society" is to exist, it must put reasonable limits, on freedom.

Finally, the PROBLEM (not the symptoms) appears. The PROBLEM is the government has become... "insensitive" to their own, ongoing, all-out assault, on personal autonomy.

Semantics are often the problem and here we find a classic case, of it: What is perceived by the government as "reasonable limits on freedom, in order to make a society possible" and by those of us faced with everyday life in the pressure cooker is NOT the same. Worse, the gap between the two points of view seems ever-widening.

Down here, at street level, the most important life skill is hiding, in plain sight. Did you see that cop, on the side of the road? Probably not. For God's sake, DON'T let him focus down on you. He can ruin your whole day. Maybe you're whole life, if he's in the mood...

Fear. Pressure. 25/8/366. You are aware your cell phone and even your "smart" TV guarantee you will never be, really alone... Paranoia, becomes your reality. And you DON'T like it. And you DON'T like the "people" that are doing it... or, have done it.

People keep sticking their noses into your life - calling you a son of a bitch, because your folks were white - and you keep wondering: when does this stop? You're beginning to realize it doesn't, unless you stop it... After YEARS in the pressure cooker you decide you don't care, anymore; that you want things to change, and you feel obligated to participate, in that change.

Very soon after embarking on a campaign of depersonalization, in order to try to understand the Trump phenomenon, I found I am one of his 'base,' in so very many ways. Odds are I hated the government, long before you were even born!

I am, however, smart enough (at least) to see that when you destroy something important, you BEST have something to assume it's function, at hand. AT HAND. Not in your wet dreams - AT HAND. And here is where Trump people and I come to loggerheads.

What do you think the response of people who saw Trump as their only hope for change - their only way out, of the pressure cooker - will be as they see their hero dragged down, by the system they hate, for all they are worth?
