FAKE NEWS

Buzzwords. Catch Phrases. Aren't they great? "Fake News," it would seem, qualifies as both a non sequitur and an oxymoron. It's verbal resemblance to something else is what gives the whole thing away, as a joke - one that's on us!

I have another buzzword for you. Boondoggle. I remember people using it, but not exactly when. I'm like that.

Boondoggles. Why are they in such abundant supply? Back in the day, if you wanted a boondoggle, you had to find one. Now you dream of a place where there isn't one. If you make any progress on that, share it with me?

Boondoggle. Kinda fun, saying it. Living it? Not so much. And now (loooong drum roll) just what the world does NOT need - another boondoggle!

Only the most brief of examinations reveals the "fake news" thing for what it is. But not for all it is. And as responsible for the horrendous damage it has done, most certainly not.

OK. First requirement - a fact checking mechanism - a way to verify the issues under examination, then make the conclusions known. Are you beginning to see the boondoggle? To me, it would seem acceptable information would be the product of an almost court-like process. The result would not always be binary - 0, or 1 - no, or yes.

I was thinking about this. I spun out, in the far turn. They are towing my brain in, again! I HATE it, when that happens.

I'm sure most would agree that lacking a fair, and universally applied method of vetting the issues, the very concept of "fake news" falls apart. Who defines "fake?" What is required of any source of information, used to pursue the legitimacy of the alleged fake news? If two vetted sources disagree, how will that issue be resolved? Boondoggle City.

Is fake news real? Can you define it? If not... ALL of it could be fake!

When the buzzword 'fake news' originated was it a new name, being applied to something? No. Was it a new thing? Yes. "Fake news" is completely new - the antithesis of news, if you will? It is, quite simply, "disinformation," masquerading as news.

Craig Silverman is credited with coining the phrase, "fake news." CLICK HERE. Even he admits the original definition has, as he puts it, "gone right out the window." Did you close that window, Mr. Silverman? Maybe you should. It might come back, when it gets hungry...

Our target hoves, into view. There, in our mind's eye, mounted on a freely-rotating pedestal like a huge, uncut gem, is FAKE NEWS. Before we concoct our response to it, a closer examination might deepen our perspective.

A SPIN DOCTOR is the invisible source of all fake news. The organizations that employ spin doctors are called "NEWS" Outlets. Lacking the access to the masses being a "News Outlet" provides, the fake news (or SPIN) would be worthless.

When a "news organization" applies SPIN to it's output it becomes something more - so very much more. But the name remains, the same. Here we have the barb, on the hook; the basis, of the deception.

Joe sixpack has a life. He works. He deals with the many joys, provided by his family. He's a taxi driver to his kids' games. He fixes his own roof. His life is... full. When (or, is that if) Joe sits down with the events of the day in mind, his quickest way to his goal is "the media." Resulting in Joe "getting more than he came for" and being unaware, of it.

In Joe's mind, news outlets REPORT. OK, Joe. Things never change, until we notice them. You don't have time to go rummaging around the web, looking for truth. You don't come to sites like this, because you are not aware there is a problem. So it's not likely you ever will.

I'm not fond of side tracks. There is one I must take, like it or not. I'm going to talk about reality, namely "consensus" reality. I only wish I could start there.

Reality comes in three major flavors: Absolute, Personal and Consensus.

Absolute: Without doubt, reality is, what it is. Problem being, no two people perceive reality in the same way. So no two people can agree on what the absolute reality is. The top-level, absolute reality can not be defined. Therefore, it does not exist. It is a concept, and that alone.

Personal: One contentious and honest man thanks his God, on his knees, for the departure of the Donald. Another truly believes the Donald is the victim of a setup so vast, as to be indefinable.

Do these men share the same reality? HELL NO! And that, is the source of most of our current problems; the reason for the poisonous, vicious political fragmentation that just might show America, her end.

Consensus: The Canadian Border is a fine example of consensus reality, not to mention it's power, and just how real it's results can be.

The Canadian border spans the North American continent, horizontally. Get in your car. Go, looking for it. Nothing, is there. But, something IS there! What is there is the product of consensus reality - it IS there because people believe it should be there, and for no other reason. And yes, it is real (whatever that means). Just ask the border guard to explain it...

Americans have been divided, as the result of innocently seeking the daily news. "News outlets" (or PUPPET MASTERS) and the SPIN DOCTORS they employ, have promulgated fake news. That fake news was accepted, by those having no reason to challenge it. In short, at least two alternate realities (called consensus realities) have been created. Both of them are purposely crafted lies, intended to manipulate the American people.

A lot of things just happen. They evolve, progress, appear, as if from nowhere... The situation we face could be one of those. Or it could be the culmination of a massive, worldwide effort to knock the bully, off the hill. How paranoid are you today? Planned, or not. It simply does not matter.

Paranoid or not, it should be understood that loyalty to our country has been supplanted by; converted into allegiance, to one of the consensus realities that are real, in the minds of the American people.

The danger of this situation is hard to overstate. Here we have two groups, diametrically opposed, both believing they are right, true Americans and, above all, defenders, of the faith. Worse, they believe anyone that DARES to think differently is one of "them;" a soldier, in an undefined army bent, on destroying America! Because that's what the Talking Head told them.

Only two words, come to mind. Oh, SHIT! Nice going, PUPPET MASTERS (et all). May your worth be the measure, of your longevity.

A situation bordering, on desperate. Seemingly one nation, it is really two - each claiming sway over territory the other side believes is theirs; believing the higher moral ground belongs to them, as well.

The Garks that created this situation (the mother of all boondoggles) are among the richest in America, and the world. Whether or not they created the role of PUPPET MASTER they became aware of it, then made use of it. And what a bungling, STUPID use it was.

I'm sure these people would use their status as Garks to "pardon themselves, in advance" of any accusation made, against them. If it got that far. Maybe Garks can prevent that...

I think a sufficient response from the government, for now, would be to strip the masks from the faces of all organizations that promulgate Spin. These are NOT "News Outlets!" They should be allowed to operate under that guise, no longer. A new name, entirely, should be invented for these organizations.

And here, in the midst of mayhem, we find the opportunity for a little fun... or, is that payback? What if tomorrow, when you tune in, Fox news suddenly becomes Fox Spin Doctors? W H A T ? You turn to CNN. Same thing. CNN Spin Doctors. The change to their new name was required, by federal law.

The only business entities allowed to use "news" in their names should be those that REPORT NEWS, without tweaking it which is defined, in no uncertain terms, by the new law.

My solution is naive, in the extreme. The Garks own the government, like a dirty pair of socks. They own YOU, as well. And all I can do is try to expose these things.

I do know this: If it remains divided, this house of cards WILL fall.

No one could beat the Americans so, in the end, they beat themselves... to death. Is this our "fate?" If so, I say we deserve a better one.
